Accommodation for groups
Skógar, situated in beautiful natural surroundings, is a popular year-round destination. During the summer, the Edda Hotel chain operates a hotel in two neighboring buildings that were formerly a boarding school. In the winter, the museum runs the hotel and offers accommodation and meals only for groups.
Facilities
The hotel has 34 rooms. Each room has a sink, and although there are no private facilities, shared showers/WC´s are located on every floor. The beds are new; the furniture is old but well maintained.
Sleeping-bag accommodations for 20 people are offered in the former gymnasium.
Various common areas, including a cozy lounge and a television room, are available for guests to relax in. A hot tub/Jacuzzi is located outside.
In our licensed restaurant in the basement, we serve our highly praised homemade food.
Activities in the vicinity
Skógar is conveniently located near a variety of many beautiful natural attractions. It is only a short drive to black beaches, glaciers, and stunning waterfalls.
The next town is Vík (pop. 285), 35 km away, where facilities and services such as a swimming pool, grocery store, and bank can be found.
